Editorial standards & corrections
Careful reporting does more than a blanket disclaimer.
Evidence and legal status
We distinguish allegations, charges, admissions, convictions, sentences, appeals, and disputed interpretations. Government releases document the government’s account; they are not automatically a neutral account of every contested fact. Advocacy statements and participant recollections are attributed. A sentence reported years ago is not evidence of present custody or current conduct.
People and relationships
Connections require public evidence and a specific type: authored, spoke at, founded, worked for, or collaborated on a named project. We do not infer friendship, covert work, criminal association, or guilt from proximity, attendance, shared interests, or a graph edge. Selection is not a “greatest hackers” ranking and inclusion is not an endorsement.
Safety, privacy, and rights
This site serves historical research and education. It does not authorize intrusion, interception, trespass, fraud, or misuse of data. We omit victim identifiers, credentials, private contact details, and actionable harmful payloads. External sites can change and are outside our control. Original works remain subject to their owners’ rights; linking is not a republication license.
Limits
The archive is incomplete and may contain errors. It is not legal, professional, or operational advice. These standards and notices do not create legal immunity or guarantee the accuracy of a statement. Specific factual accuracy, context, and correction remain necessary.
Corrections
Send the page URL or stable record ID, the exact disputed statement, and reliable supporting evidence to the site maintainer through your existing contact channel. Maintainers should retain the source trail, distinguish a corrected error from a new development, and record substantive changes. A dedicated public correction intake is not yet available; no submission is implied by reading this page.
